Proton's Global MDP - October 2008

WORLD BRANDS : MAGICAL SYMBOLS

Every individual has his own meaning for the word "brand". For some, it is an invisible understanding of symbolic behavior, for some others it is a conversation, a set of expectations, a means of differentiation. The list goes on.

To help put the amazing world of branding in perspective, PROTON invited a faculty of global repute to its Indore campus. Prof. Stanley Moss delivered the October Global MDP program. He is the CEO & Director of The Medinge Group, USA and he is also the member of Board of Advisors for Proton. As a brand guru with over 40 years of experience in brand building, he threw light on the topic WORLD BRANDS: MAGICAL SYMBOLS.

Very beautifully, he explained the dynamics of the changing environment in the field of branding and talked about the major issues that the organizations needed to concentrate on, in the current scenario. Major ones were the Green Awareness & New product creation. As per Prof Moss, the market is in the process of transformation and we need to cope up with it.

He talked at length about the emergence of the BRIC brand (Brazil, Russia, India, and China) and these nations' rise as the major world markets. He talked about various features of these markets, like low loyalty, price sensitivity etc.

It was a very enriching experience for one and all. After the session Prof. Stanley addressed a press meet and in the evening a special session was organized for the corporate executives.
