Earth Hour 2010 has arrived! Today at PROTON the young professionals highlighted the challenge for future- to think about and shape a sustainable future for our planet. ‘The Earth Hour Day’ is a Global event which is organized by World Wide Fund for Nature on the last Saturday of March annually. This day brings awareness about the problem of climate change and its ill effects. It also signifies that we as individuals can also bring changes in the world by taking small initiatives on saving energy. 

The Protons conducted a very inspiring and motivational event at the Chaupaal at both Indore and Ahmedabad campuses. The COO PT universe, Mr. Manish Saraf and Dean Dr. Vinay Goyal, PROTON business school at Indore and Dean Prof. Kapil Dev Upadhya at Ahmedabad campus emphasized the importance of the “Earth Hour”. They said that young people play an important part not only because they are our future leaders, but also because they can have great impact on their local communities and will surely do a lot to convince their families and peers to join the Earth Hour. They shared a very thought provoking video on the Earth Hour Day. The Protons also participated in this movement and urged everyone to switch off all nonessential electrical appliances for one hour on this day.

Earth Hour is all about the simple changes everyone can make. The Protons pledged their support to curtail the carbon emission through conservation of energy. It's only one hour but it will send a powerful message around the world that we're serious about reducing global warming and that we care enough to take action.
