PROTON business school successfully conducted the August Global MDP at its Indore campus. Continuing with the tradition, it was time now for the September MDP on “Understanding America as a Global Citizen through Understanding its Institutional Systems.” The session could not have been conducted by someone better then the person who himself has been deeply involved in the US legal structure. The speaker Mr. Edward C Dorsey from United States did perfect justice with this belief.
The objective of the institute, to bring international exposure for the Protons was surely met. As the session was designed both students and corporates, it involved many dimensions- View of United States on Corporate India its strengths & points of improvement, Governmental, Political, Legal & Economic system of United States, Impact of U.S policies on the global stage etc.
The session even included the discussion regarding the ‘current’ most talked about issues of America- The upcoming Presidential election & what it may mean to the future of United States as a Global citizen, the behavior of the Business sector, the possible effects of 2008 Election etc. The performance of America as a global citizen attracted the interest of both students and Corporates. Mr. Dorsey was pleasantly surprised to see the range of questions from Protons, which was attributable largely to the excellent exposure they get as part of their regular Excellence and Leadership Programme which includes inputs like The Economist, on a regular basis.
Later, the session was summarized and concluded by Dr. Manas Fuloria who talked upon ‘Seeing both sides’. It provided a dimension for the students to look at a particular issue from various angles.
Latest trends from around the world were discussed at length, and participants benefited from the vast range of experience of the speakers.
The Global MDP series is part of Proton's global faculty exposure programme, where Protons (the students at Proton) are given the excellent opportunity of learning from the best minds around the world.
