Mega Celebration of Press Freedom Day


PT universe continued its tradition of celebrating the World Press Freedom Day for the third year. The event was conducted as part of its Corporate Social Responsibilty theme. The event was conducted at PROTON business school.

Eminent media personalities - Mr. Rajkumar Keswani (Editor, Rasrang, Dainik Bhaskar), Mr. Manoj Shrivastava (Commissioner PR, Govt. of MP), and Mr. Prakash Hindustani (Editor, Sahara Samay) graced the event as key speakers. A huge media gathering was also present. Mr. Sanjay Patel conducted the whole event. The prominent guests began the ceremony by lighting the lamp and seeking Goddess Saraswati's blessings.
 
The dynamic panel members discussed the burning issue - “Media in the Changing World”. The panel also discussed various issues like privatization of media and its responsibilities. The Chief Mentor addressed the press by saying that media is playing a very supportive role for vibrancy of democracy in India.

Mr. Prakash Hindustani expressed his views on the freedom of media. He said, “Print media is the foundation of electronic media, and even today electronic media is dominated by print media.” He said that the privatization of media has made media a business world. 

Honourable guest Mr. Manoj Shrivastava threw light on the security issue of media. He told the audience that the press in India is more liberalized and has full freedom of expression as compared to other foreign countries. Further he added that the Indian media is facing the problem of security as there is no shield law for media. Mr. Rajkumar Keswani shared his view on the technical developments of media that has proved beneficial and also changed the value system of India.

The event ended up by showing a mark of respect in the form of mementos to all the guests and media persons. The Chief Mentor extended a vote of thanks to everyone. Finally this wonderful moment was captured in a group snapshot of all the guests.
