PROTON's FMB Programme - powered by the timeless Yin Yang
The Chinese philosophical traditions tell us about the concept of ‘Yin-Yang’. This wisdom describes the relationships and patterns that occur in nature. Instead of studying isolated patterns, the world is viewed as a harmonious and holistic entity. ‘Yin-Yang’ focuses on the concept that no single being/form could exist unless it is seen in relation to its surroundings. The theory is based on the ‘Yin’ & the ‘Yang’ which are opposites of each other (e.g. male-female or active-passive) and none can exist in isolation.
The interrelationship between Yin and Yang
- Pure or absolute Yin (and Yang) does not exist: There is always some degree of the opposite contained in anything that exists, no matter how and extreme the degree of Yin or Yang.
- Yin is complimentary to Yang & vice versa: There does not exist any antagonism between opposites in Nature. They are always complimentary.
- Yin nourishes and sustains and controls Yang and vice versa: Each thing depends upon its opposite in order to exist; thus Yin 'creates' Yang and Yang 'creates' Yin.
- Everything in the physical world has an opposite: Wherever there is a 'front' there will also be a back; the bigger the front, the bigger the back.
- Yin gradually changes to Yang and vice versa: There is a great instability and the change from one opposite to the other is rapid and inharmonious.
How does PROTON’s FMB programme use Yin-Yang to power its delivery?
The parent-child duality in a typical family owned and managed business is a perfect example of the Yin-Yang concept. PROTON's FMB programme utilises the wisdom of this philosophy which has for thousands of years helped people shape their approach towards life.
The parent represents the Yin, and child, the Yang.
There may be a vast difference of approach in the business understanding of a parent and the child. The FMB programme of PROTON works to bridge this difference.
The two generational approaches represent the Yin and the Yang.
PROTON’s FMB programme will orient the participants on the ideal way a family business works, which is neither completely traditional, nor completely modern.
This traditional is Yin, the modern is Yang.
The family business is founded by one generation and is managed by the next generation.
PROTON's FMB programme helps make this transition smooth and effective, by imparting smart values. It helps the younger generation appreciate the toil, intelligence and logic that went into creating their family business, and how they can now make it more relevant to the changing times. A harmonious co-existence of both (or multiple) generations to take the family business forward is the focus of our FMB programme.
